Debreziner Sausage with Bow Tie Pasta and Carbonara Sauce

Preparation
- Prepare the Carbonara Sauce according to package directions. Keep warm.
- In a large pot, heat the canola oil on medium high heat and sauté the debreziner sausages for 4-5 minutes.
- Add the onions, garlic, red bell pepper, and mushrooms and continue to sauté for 2 minutes.
- Add the rest of the ingredients, lower heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Optional: Finish with 175 mL of cooking cream and 100 g of freshly grated Gruyere cheese.

- 50 mL (3 tbsp) of canola oil
- 100 mL (7 tbsp) of Spanish onion, finely diced
- 15 mL (1 tbsp) of garlic, minced
- 1 red bell pepper, finely diced
- 200 mL (3/4 cup) of mushrooms, thinly sliced
- 30 mL (2 tbsp) of parsley, finely chopped
- 3 mL (1/2 tsp) of black peppercorns
- 2 mL (1/2 tsp) of basil
- 1.2 kg (2.5 lbs) of bow tie pasta, cooked
