French Onion Soup

Preparation
- Prepare the beef soup base according to package instructions, keep warm and set aside.
- In a large pan add the butter and let it melt on medium, heat.
- Add in the onions and spread them out in an even layer, add in the thyme as well.
- Stir onions often to prevent them from sticking, until they are completely soft and golden brown.
- Add the caramelized onions to the beef broth and stir well.
- In the ramekins portion the soup and top with a slice of baguette and the Gruyere cheese.
- Put the ramekins under the broiler, or use a blow torch to melt the cheese on top. Serve and enjoy.

- 3 onions, sliced
- 30 mL (2 tbsp) of butter
- 5 mL (1 tsp) of thyme
- 1 french baguette, sliced
- 1 L (4 cups) Gruyère cheese, grated
