Ingredients

  • 1250 mL (5 cups) of prepared Instant, Gluten-Free Culinary Cream Base
  • 175 g (6 oz) of cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 15 mL (1 tbsp) of vegetable oil
  • 340 g (12 oz) of ground beef
  • 13 g (4 oz) of mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 15 mL (1 tbsp) of Steak Spice Mix
  • 125 mL (1/2 cup) of bacon, crumbled
  • (Optional) Extra cheddar cheese, shredded
  • (Optional) 125 mL (1/2 cup) of pickles, diced
  • (Optional) Ketchup
  • (Optional) Mustard

Preparation

  • Prepare the cream soup base as per instructions on package, add shredded cheese, mix well, and keep warm.
  • Heat oil in a pan and brown ground beef. Set aside.
  • In the same pan, cook the onions and mushrooms until soft.
  • Mix the beef, onions, and mushrooms with the cream soup and season with the steak spice mix.
  • Bring to a simmer for 15 minutes.
  • Dish the soup and garnish with bacon bits, diced pickles (optional), shredded cheddar (optional), and ketchup and/or mustard (optional).

Give a true cheeseburger feeling by serving the soup in a bread bowl, or serve in a regular bowl and accompany with slices of baguette.
