In the ongoing market and supply chain challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, we continue to diligently search and test secondary sourcing for many ingredients, notably instant starches, to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through order fulfillment.
This temporary change to instant products, notably sauces and gravies, does not affect the end results of the products in terms of color, taste, or viscosity. However, because of the nature of the starch – adding it directly into boiling or very hot water may create small lumps and thin the product more than usual. Therefore, we suggest the following:
UPDATED PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS
By following this procedure, the lumps should disappear, and the product will become smoother. Note: Results may vary with each product as these are general guidelines.
Please note that this is only a short-term change due to a shortage of starch. We selected this solution to ensure that our customers remain operational during continuously challenging times. We will update the starch situation as soon as there is more stability in the market.
